How to verify any ISO certificate in Iraq
Any accredited ISO certificate can be verified on IAF CertSearch at iafcertsearch.org, and the check takes minutes. Open the site and search the certified company's name or the certificate number. The result shows the certification body, the accreditation body behind it, the standard, and the certificate status.
Then match three things. The standard on the record must match the standard on the paper. The scope must describe what the company actually does. The certification body's accreditation body must be an IAF MLA signatory, which CertSearch itself confirms. If any of the three fails, ask the certification body for an explanation in writing.
If the certificate does not appear at all, do not assume fraud immediately. Certification bodies upload data on their own schedules. Ask the provider to name its accreditation body and accreditation number. A provider that cannot name either is selling a non-accredited certificate, whatever the paper says.
Red flags of a certificate mill
The three red flags of a certificate mill are no named accreditation, instant certificates, and no audit. Legitimate certification involves a stage 1 and stage 2 audit, findings you must close, and surveillance audits after issuance. Any offer that skips those steps is selling paper.
Watch the language too. "Internationally accredited" with no body named, no number, and no scope is a claim designed to avoid verification.
